Falls

Yesterday, the falls looked like this:
It rained overnight, and today the falls look like this:
The very same falls.
My goodness how they changed in a scant 24 hour period.
One day the water runs leisurely along, clear enough so you can see the bottom and at a volume that allows glimpses into all sorts of nooks and crannies that make you think “When the weather gets warmer, I’d sure like to wade out there and have a look around inside.” Then the next day there’s a lot more water than you would think possible from several hours of a slow, steady rain. Water rushing fast and furious, hiding the caves and crannies that held such interest yesterday. Water churned up and discolored from infiltration from other sources, so muddy you can’t even tell how far it is to the bottom.
